After 15 years as an LPN, I have often thought about going back to school in order to be an RN or NP. The excuses were many – money, time… well, mostly just those two. I even applied and got accepted to a program a few years ago. When COVID hit, it was a convenient reason to put that plan on hold.

But at last I found a program that I could complete mostly online, and with the full support of my husband and my work, I have applied, been accepted and now have a plan to begin next week. With luck and by God’s grace, I will be a practicing RN in the next three years.

With two kids, a career and volunteering, time will be tight. But I feel driven to complete this challenge, not just for the increased income, but for the opportunity to increase my ability to help people… I hope.
