Today I met with the neurosurgeon in Oahu who reviewed and explained my CTA, carefully describing the C1 vertabrae break and what to expect. Luckily no surgery is required. The break should heal just fine as long as I don’t reinjure my neck doing anything crazy.

Two days ago I started to notice my pain decreasing. I am still consistently sore and stiff but the sharp pain is limited to accidental quick movements of my neck.
Only 9 days after my all too close brush with possible paralysis, I have been cleared to return to work and exercise with caution of course. I now hope to ease back into an exercise routine beginning with stretching and lower body work. I will however need to continue wearing the brace for 12 weeks as opposed to my original instructions of 5 weeks.
But I am so happy the injury was not worse, I will not complain!
