
There was a time when I looked at walking as barely exercise. My fav workouts were P90X, Insanity, Hard Corps and a solid 3 mile run. I have now learned to listen to my body. It comes in seasons – my preference for exercise. After feeling awful for so many months and now beginning to feel more like me, I am very content to go for a walk for my daily exercise.
It’s low impact on my joints, there’s plenty of fresh air (ok so this is a bit easier in Hawaii, the weather here is pretty fantastic), I get to chat with the neighbors and meet super friendly dogs! Well, most of them are friendly. I’ve learned to present myself as pretty fierce when I’ve got a big dog running at me.
It’s also an excellent opportunity to clear the mind, think, listen to a podcast, and occasionally I’ll get the kids to come with me for some tech-free, mom-kid time with only minimal complaining… if I’m lucky 😉
