Potato Diet: Day 1

No 4 o’clock crash.

NO 4 O’CLOCK CRASH! Nice.

Shooting for 3 days of nothing but potatoes, except for my shake in the morning for a little extra protein, calories and vitamins.

The goal: weight loss? Sure, that would be a nice bonus. But more importantly I want to test if what I’ve read and heard on podcasts is true.

  1. Cooked and cooled (and reheated if desired) potatoes while retaining the vitamins, have less of an effect on blood sugars than potatoes eaten right after cooked the first time
  2. You can lose weight, feel full and not deprive your body of needed vitamins
  3. This diet can work to ‘cleanse’ your system

So I have been eating cold red potatoes throughout the day. When I got home and the hunger pang struck again, I added a little salt to a spud or two because I recall the dizziness I experience during my juice cleanses due to the loss of salt. Every day around 3 or 4pm I crash, feeling exhausted, bummed for no other reason I can identify other than being done with work and crashing from the sugar I had consumed that day.

Day 1, although it’s not done just yet, is definitely a positive!
